West Catholic Students are Finalists in Statewide Math Competition
Senior Dan Liden and Junior Collette Gravelyn have qualified as finalists in the Fifty-Second Annual Michigan Mathematics Prize Competition. They are among the top 1,000 students from among 8,000 students in Part I of the Competition. Part I was a multiple-choice exam with forty problems given at 190 high schools throughout Michigan on October 8, 2008. Math teacher Rebecca Cortes coordinated the Competition at West Catholic.

CC Students Bring Christmas Joy to Grand Rapids Area Needy
Catholic Central students and teachers brought the gift of the holidays to families in the Greater Grand Rapids area as part of the high school’s annual “Christmas Families” program. Each homeroom class adopted a family and collected and purchased items off of their wish lists.

West Catholic Awarded Grand Rapids Foundation Grants
West Catholic has been awarded six grants totaling $4,819 through the Good Schools for Grand Rapids Minigrant Program sponsored by the Grand Rapids Community Foundation. The program is open to teachers and students in all schools, public and private, located in the city of Grand Rapids.
