Mr. Nugent has taught at West Catholic since 1993. He is the advisor of the Quiz Bowl team and Students for Life. He also serves as the Chairman of the North Central Accreditation process. He is an author of A Bold Diocesan Venture: Catholic Central and West Catholic High Schools 1906-2006.

Phil is a 1999 graduate of West Catholic. After graduating from GVSU, he spent some time in the seminary for the diocese. Outside of working at West, he also runs the high school faith formation program at Our Lady of Consolation. He is married and enjoys playing and watching sports as well as reading theology books.
