Catholic Central's chapel is symbolic of the centrality of our Catholic faith, providing and supporting opportunities to enhance students’ faith experience. The renovation will be an updating of current chapel, which was made possible through a generous gift from the Morrow family. The project is aligned with Catholic Secondary Schools strategic priority to be a community of faith, creating environments where all may encounter the living God.
A sacred space
The chapel welcomes students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members to prayer, liturgy or quiet reflection. Among its uses:
• Eucharistic Adoration
• Communal prayer, worship and song
• Morning Mass
• Private prayer and reflection
Infused with reverence
The new chapel will feature:
• Enhanced presence in the corridor through lighting, seasonal color, liturgical symbols and an expanse of glass to draw the assembly inside.
• Redesigned inner space with central focus on the altar and tabernacle.
• Suspended ceiling, updated flooring and wall colors, chairs with kneelers; sacred art and liturgical furnishings all combine to provide an atmosphere of reverence.
• Sacristy/Confessional
Chapel renovation costs
• Overall construction costs of approximately $140,000
• New furnishings and art ranging from $50,000 - $100,000
