How do I choose between Catholic Central and West Catholic High School? Our partner elementary schools are aligned with a particular high school. To determine which school you are partnered with visit the Partner Elementary Schools page on the Grand Rapids Catholic Secondary Schools website. If you are not a member of one of our partner elementary schools, the choice may be dependent on your location and proximity to the high school.

Is there a uniform requirement? In an effort to reinforce our Catholic school identity and promote a modest, yet casual dress standard that is in keeping with our values, the Catholic Secondary Schools require a school uniform. The uniform is described on page 13 of the Student Handbook. Find information on purchasing uniforms on the Sunshine School Uniforms page on this site.
Do you have transportation available to students? The Catholic Secondary Schools have a fleet of busses that service the Greater Grand Rapids area. Please direct any questions regarding bus routes to the Grand Rapids Catholic Secondary Transportation Department at (616) 246-6470.
What is the application process? All freshmen are required to take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) prior to registration.
What is the High School Placement Test (HSPT)? Who is required to take it, when is it offered and how do I register to take this test. All freshmen are required to take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) prior to registration. This achievement and abilities test assists in determining appropriate placement. Is there tuition assistance available? Yes, there is tuition assistance available. One out of four of our students receive some form of tuition assistance. Please visit the Scholarships and Tuition Grant Opportunities page for information.
What is current enrollment at the high schools? Catholic Central’s current enrollment is 728 with a student-teacher ratio of 13:1.
How many of your students go on to college? Both of our high schools are college-preparatory schools. On average, 98% of our students enroll in colleges and universities after graduation and garner millions of dollars in scholarship offers.
What are your school colors? What is your mascot? Catholic Central High School’s colors are blue and white. We are the Cougars!
