ACT is an achievement test measuring what a student has learned in school. This test was designed to be taken by high school students towards the end of their junior year. It is recommended that students take this test at least twice. Virtually all colleges and universities accept the ACT as a qualifying entrance examination.
SAT Reasoning Test is a test of the student's problem solving ability. College-bound students should plan to take the test beginning in the spring of junior year and it can be re-taken several times. Schools generally only use the highest combined verbal and math scores from the best sitting of the test.
