Guidance Center Objectives The Catholic Central Guidance Center helps students make decisions and accept responsibility for their choices. Students meet with counselors in individual and group sessions, classroom visits, mediations and referrals to outside agencies, if needed. Students are encouraged to set up appointments to talk to their counselor or visit their counselor before or after the school day or during their study period.
The services of the Guidance Center are also available to parents. Parents are encouraged to contact their child's counselor for any academic, personal or family question or concern. Conversations between counselors and students are confidential.
Resources Career Crusing Website - Career Cruising can be accessed at www.careercruising.com This website allows students to match interests and abilities with careers, do an EDP ( four year plan ), explore careers, colleges and financial aid.
Prep HQ Website - Prep HQ is a comprehensive set of internet-based tools to enhance high school guidance and make college/career prep more effective. The tracker feature allows students and counselors to track student interests, college applications, acceptances, and scholarships. It also allows students the opportunity to edit college preferences and explore financial aid opportunities. In the future counselors will be able to upload high school transcripts directly to the colleges that students apply to.
