Academics
Administrators and teachers continue to work together in a collaborative effort to continually review and improve curriculum. Though each school will have a standardized curriculum guide, implementation of specific courses may differ to reflect different student populations, established parent/student interest, staffing, available materials and budgetary constraint. While some differences are inherent among distinct school populations, the Diocese of Grand Rapids is committed to providing equitable educational opportunities to all of our students.
By using a holistic educational approach, we, the Grand Rapids Catholic Secondary Schools (CSS), strive to develop individuals physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually in the light of the mandates of the Second Vatican Council and the National Conference of Catholic Bishops.
Emphasis is placed on the Principles of Catholic Social teaching. Those Principles are integrated into all aspects of student and staff life, including liturgies and other religious activities, student and staff retreats, across all subject areas and throughout all extracurricular activities. We are guided by the Seven Principles of Catholic Social Teaching through our daily routine.
